LBK Post Google Set to Introduce Dart

A New Structured Programming Language

It's a bird, it's a plane -- it's Dart, Google's soon-to-be-released computer language for structured web programming. Having hoarded dart-related URLs for the past couple of months, Google's confirmed the (previously) secret project on the Goto International Software Development Conference Website.

====================

Dart makes a nice addition to Go, JavaScript and Python in Google's coding bag-o-tricks, but there's room for one more --  Spot.

LBK Post Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 1 with New Alt+Tab Login Screen and Firefox 7

ubuntu 11.10 beta 1

The first beta version of Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot has landed right on time, and if everything goes to plan a second beta build will be released on September 22, and the final build will emerge on October 13. If you’re still a believer in version numbers, the most significant change is the inclusion of
Linux kernel 3.0.3.

LBK Post Who's Blowing Smoke in Android Land?

Well It looks like BetaNews for Starters.

Amazon Tablet will 'Completely Disrupt the Status Quo'

Let's Open the Windows and Clear the Air.

The Status Quo Right Now and for the forseeable future is Apple (Not your mother's old pair of shoes), and they are not going anywhere anytime soon.

Apple is 3/4 of the way around the track and All the other Players are trying to find the Starting Gate.

That May Sound Harsh, but those Are The Facts.

Their numbers suggest a Tablet priced under $300 bucks.

I say they have to be Under the $200 price to have a chance.

LBK Post LinuxCon : Sessions You Don't Want to Miss

VANCOUVER. This week the Linux community celebrates the 20th anniversary of Linux at LinuxCon.

With three full days and six concurrent tracks there is no shortage of Linux content to take in.

While I personally have often wanted to be in more than one place at the same time, there are certainly some really key presentations that attendees should not miss.

LBK Post Just When You Thought It Was Safe to Go Back Into The Water

IBM Throws Its Source Code and Support Behind OpenOffice

Sources close to IBM that IBM will be donating more than 3-million lines of Symphony source code to the Apache OpenOffice project. IBM will also be adding developers to work with the OpenOffice community to assess how Symphony should be integrated into OpenOffice. It seems IBM will also continue their own in-house Symphony development.
